CALL FOR ARTISTS FOR ANIMALS Catskill Animal Sanctuary, the haven for rescued farm animals in Saugerties, is the subject and eventual beneficiary of an upcoming show at the One Mile Gallery in Kingston. Foolsgold Arts, a “producer of exhibitions that benefit nonprofit organizations working to protect animals and the environment,” is teaming up with the folks at One Mile Gallery to sponsor a show featuring works inspired by the animals at CAS. Believe me, I’ve visited (and written about) Catskill Animal Sanctuary, and their critters have character. (Especially the goats. And the sheep. And the horses. And. . . .) The show will run from July 2-30 at the One Mile Gallery, and the call for art is open until May 30. For complete info on the show and details on how to submit art, visit foolsgoldarts.org. And if you want to check out what CAS is all about, founder Kathy Stevens is now leading 2-hour guided tours on Sundays. (This is in addtion to the regular Saturday tours.) For info about visiting CAS, check out casanctuary.org/visiting-cas/.
