Matthew Sweet is celebrating his 20th anniversary with his Girlfriend—the album, that is. The title track of that album brought him commercial success, and he’s had an album out at least every two years since then. He just came out with a new album last year, Modern Art, but don’t expect to hear much of it. He’ll be playing the Girlfriend album from start to finish, a set of power pop that might take you back in time to the early ’90s. A Fragile Tomorrow, a power-pop group based in North Carolina but originally from Ulster County, will open. (June 22, 8 PM, $28, Empire State Plaza, Albany, 473-1845)
