SALEM ART WORKS, SATURDAY

Salem Art Works’ SAWFest keeps it nice and local with some of the best indie, electronic and rock in the Capital Region. There will be—count ‘em—two SXSW veterans, Saratoga’s Railbird (pictured) and My Pet Dragon, lead by Granvilla native Todd Michaelsen and dancer-actress Reena Shah. Also performing are the Black Ships of Saratoga, The City Never Sleeps, Eric Margan of the Red Lions and the Sunny Side of the Street Band, Anthony Fallacaro and Josh Robin. You can make a day of it by camping out and visiting food vendors, a sculpture park, and exhibitions. See page 12 for more on Salem Art Works. (Aug. 18, 5 PM, $20, children under 12 $5, 19 Carey Lane, Salem, 854-7674)
