VALENTINE’S, SATURDAY
If Amy Winehouse had done less coke and smoked more weed, she’d A) likely still be alive and B) sound a fair amount like Wild Belle’s Natalie Bergman. Bergman’s natural soul vocals are, in this configuration, given a vintage rock-steady reggae treatment by her brother, saxophonist Elliot Bergman, and a number of other musicians from his Chicago-based Afrobeat band NOMO. This stuff is sleek, chic, laid-back and super well-dressed. Be sure to be in similar form when you go check them out at Valentine’s. Emily Sprague will open. (Oct. 6, 8 PM, $9-$11, 17 New Scotland Ave., Albany, 432-6572)
