If you crave a big orchestral sound, the Albany Symphony is going to deliver one this weekend in two concerts at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.

The program for both shows is titled Bach’s Magnificat, and will featured the combined forces of the ASO and Albany Pro Musica, the “Capital Region’s preeminent choral ensemble.” In addition to the magisterial Bach piece, the ASO/APM combo will perform John Corigliano’s Fern Hill (a setting of the Dylan Thomas poem) and a symphony by Haydn.

Albany Symphony Orchestra and friends will perform Saturday (Oct. 13) at 7:30 PM and Sunday (Oct. 14) at 3 PM at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall (2nd and State streets, Troy). For ticket prices and reservations, call the ASO at 694-3300.
