A Toronto critic described an August 2012 performance by the quartet in glowing terms: “The Cecilias—violinists Min-Jeong Koh and Sarah Nematallah, violist Caitlin Boyle and cellist Rachel Desoer—played as one . . . becoming a single organism pulsing with red-blooded fervor.” And a critic for OpusOne described their 2012 album of Dvorák selections as “continuing testimony that this is an adventurous ensemble, expert and cheerful, expressive and disciplined.”
Saturday’s program will include Haydn’s String Quartet in F Major, Webern’s Langsamer Satz in E-flat Major, and Dvorák’s String Quartet in G Major.
The Cecilia String Quartet will perform Saturday (Nov. 17) at 8 PM at Emma Willard School’s Kiggins Hall (285 Pawling Ave., Route 66, Troy). Tickets are $25, $15 students. For tickets and info, call 273-4843.
