Thanksgiving Soul Jam

by Metroland Staff on November 21, 2012

PALACE THEATRE, SATURDAY

If, like so many others, you find yourself stuck in an airport on the busiest travel day of the year, or stressed out packing in the turkey and fixings, Saturday is an opportunity to say thanks by stepping into the world of legendary soul group Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Grammy-winning R&B diva Evelyn Champagne King will help out with some of her best-known songs: “Shame” and “Love Come Down.” The soul jam will be rounded out by the remarkably gifted vocal trio the Delfonics, who will deliver hits like “LaLa Means I Love You,” “Ready or Not,”  and “Didn’t I Blow Your Mind This Time.” (Nov. 24, 8 PM, $39, 19 Clinton Ave., Albany, 465-3335)
