Tony DeSare’s whole modus seems lifted from another time. A piano man with a “toothpaste smile” and a voice to match, the 30-something performer has built his career as a Sinatra for the new generation. So it makes proper sense that he’d take his holiday tour through town for one of those old-school two night runs at the Charles R. Wood Theater.
DeSare has spent the past year collaborating with the Philadelphia Orchestra, opening for Don Rickles and even paying tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes himself at SPAC. As a master of the Great American Songbook, DeSare should have no trouble shifting gears for holiday material.
After packing up the Thanksgiving feast and before kicking into Christmas mode, you’ll have two opportunities to hear DeSare this weekend.
Tony DeSare will play the Charles R. Wood Theater (207 Glen St., Glens Falls) on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 23-24) at 8 PM. Tickets are $45. For more info, call 798-9663.
