Al Margolis

The apocalypse will come early in Woodstock, as the Big Takeover are throwing an end-of-the-world party at Bearsville Theater tonight (Thursday) with Leonard Banks and Omerta (9 PM, $10, 845-679-4406). . . . Saratoga Springs has the timing right though, as ArmagedDEN will rock Putnam Den tomorrow (Friday) night courtesy of $weatpant$ Money, TrevMunz and Kloud9, Rome Thrasher and Auxidental (9 PM, $10, 584-8066). . . . Al Margolis and Walter Wright are going to be conjuring their own improvised electro-acoustic end-times soundtrack at the Spotty Dog on Friday (8 PM, $5, 671-6006). . . . The Manhattan Project aim to bore a hole through the space-time continuum with dance-ready livelectronica at Red Square on Friday. They’ll be joined by Convolved (8 PM, $11, 465-0444). . . . If we make it to Saturday, though, it’s OK to be nostalgic, just like the annual Ghosts of Hardcore Past show, which will be at Valentine’s (8 PM, 432-6572). . . . Similarly, the Figgs will be looking toward brighter tomorrows on Saturday, cleaning up the apocalypse with a party at Putnam Den (9 PM, $10, 584-8066). . . . Meanwhile, all the metal dudes are going to get all warm and festive at Jingle Bell Rock Metal Fest Saturday at Upstate Concert Hall (4:30 PM, $12, 371-0012). . . . And Ralph Renna’s Capital Underground will mob Dinosaur Bar-B-Q for a toy drive and fundraiser on Sunday (2 PM, free, 308-0400). . . . Brian Dewan and Liv Carrow give the season’s soundtrack a proper treatment on Sunday for the third annual Spotty Dog Christmas Carol Spectacular (7 PM, free, 671-6006).
