Rock bands have long paid their respects to great cars of the past. The Chevy Astro Safari van finally gets its due when a band of that name play Putnam Den tonight (Thursday) along with Stellar Young, the Heart Foundation and Jonathan Brunner (8 PM, $7, 584-8066). . . . Halt! Tonight’s Badfish show has been postponed due to approaching snowflakes. They’ll be back in exactly one week’s time though. . . . Former Metroland music editor John Brodeur is reviving—count ’em—two former musical projects for a Valentine’s bill on Friday. The Sense Offenders and Five Alpha Beatdown are both back, as well as the Switched On (9 PM, 432-6572). . . . The Rustic Overtones have been doing their thing since they were teenagers. They’ll be back at Club Helsinki on Saturday with Bohemian Slackers (9 PM, $15, 828-4800). . . . The Lucky Jukebox Brigade will celebrate New Year’s Eve a couple days early with their Saturday show at Valentine’s along with Megan Jean and the Klay Family Band, Headband Jack and Tarot card readings (8 PM, 432-6572). . . . The New Riders of the Purple Sage will be back in their natural environment at Bearsville on Sunday (8 PM, $30, 845-679-4406). . . .
