Girls Guns and Glory

by Metroland Staff on December 27, 2012

New Englanders have never been known for their yodeling. Ward Hayden is aiming to change all of that. His classic-country-inspired band, Girls Guns and Glory, are good, giving and game enough with the genre to begin garnering accolades in papers outside of the Boston Phoenix, which helped launch them. Last year, the lot of conservatory-trained musicians got their break with Sweet Nothings and have been landing ever-larger gigs since then. In November they brought the honky-tonk to Gillete Stadium to perform the national anthem before a New England Patriots game. (Dec. 28, 9 PM, $10, 405 Columbia St., Hudson, 828-4800)
