Ryan Montbleau Band

by Metroland Staff on December 27, 2012

With 10 years of touring behind him, it might be officially time to think of Ryan Montbleau as a veteran of the scene. His songs have, after all, always had a soulful world-weariness about them and Montbleau’s babyface has always seemed to conceal a salty bluesman underneath. His latest record, For Higher, was recorded with Galactic’s Ben Ellman over a few slow-paced days in New Orleans. The record found help from the legendary Ivan Neville and George Porter Jr. and even includes covers of tunes by Curtis Mayfield and Bill Withers. Jesse Dee will open the show.
