Big D and the Kids Table

by Metroland Staff on January 3, 2013

PUTNAM DEN, SATURDAY

Boston ska band Big D and the Kids Table came of age during the ’90s ska rennaissance, sharing the stage with bands like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish and Rancid, but they’ve always thought a bit outside the box, recording gangsta rap albums and a split EP with Japanese spazz-rockers Melt Banana. The Damned, the Dumb and the Delirious got the band back on the raod last year, before everything came to a hault when lead singer Dave McWane was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. In April of this year, McWane made a full recovery and the horn-heavy skankers are back doing what they do best. (Jan. 5, 9 PM, $15, 63A Putnam St., Saratoga Springs, 584-8066)
