emma’s revolution

by The Staff on January 3, 2013

If you have to ask who “Emma” is, then you would clearly profit from a study of 20th-century radical politics in the United States. If you have to ask who “emma’s revolution” are, then you’re clearly not listening to enough activist folk music.

The musical duo who are emma’s revolution, Pat Humphries and Sandy O, have built a loyal following with their mix of compelling, political songs, a fine sense of humor, and a genuine commitment to activism. (Last summer, they released a song in time for the Republican National Convention titled “Take Your Vagina to the RNC.”) They have a new album, RPM, and their musical mission continues.

The 8th Step will present emma’s revolution on Saturday (Jan. 5) at 7:30 PM at Underground at Proctors (432 State St., Schenectady). Tickets are $24. For more info, call the box office at 346-6204.
