Rock For Recovery

by Metroland Staff on January 3, 2013

In the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings, a quote from Mister Rogers began circulating on the Internet, telling people that in times of tragedy, you should always look for the “helpers.” True, our society rarely comes together as well as in times of crisis. Rock for Recovery is a great example of this: two nights of some of the region’s best and most diverse bands, performing together to raise funds for those affected in Sandy Hook. Friday night will feature Conehead Buddha, Dr. Jah and the Love Prophets, Skunk Hostage, the Lucky Jukebox Brigade, Timbre Coup and Way Down, while Saturday features Black Mountain Symphony, Erin Harkes Band, Matt and the Bad Ideas, Sean Rowe, Super 400 and the Hearing Aides. (Jan. 4-5, 8 PM, $10, 17 New Scotland Ave., Albany, 432-6572)
