Drummer Bobby Previte (left) has played with everyone from Tom Waits and John Zorn to Marco Benevento, Charlie Hunter and So Percussion over his long musical career. The Niagara Falls (N.Y.) native has been an accomplished genre-bender for decades, and he’s bringing his latest project to Albany on Tuesday.

Gamble/Previte/Rucker are guitarist Mike Gamble, Previte, and reed man Fabian Rucker. They slash, they jam, they honk . . . and they’ll insinuate their way into your consciousness.

“New York downtown drummer/composer Bobby Previte has been one of the fresh winds in cross-genre contemporary music throughout the past decade.” So sayeth the Guardian . . . in 2004. And nine years later, it’s still true.

Doctor Magnum will open.

Gamble/Previte/Rucker will perform Tuesday (Jan. 15) at 8 PM at Red Square (388 Broadway, Albany). Tickets are $10. For more info, call the club at 465-0444.
