Million Dollar Quartet, rolling into Proctors on Tuesday, is one of those so-called jukebox musicals—and what a jukebox. The Tony Award-winning Broadway smash imagines what happened at the legendary recording session at Sam Philips’ Sun Records that brought together four legends of American music, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley.
Pictured is the guy playing Jerry Lee Lewis. Hey—he looks like Jerry Lee!
As you would expect with a show about a quartet of rock & roll good old boys, there’s a mature content heads-up: “Adult language, smoking and drinking are prevalent in the show.”
Million Dollar Quartet will be presented on the Mainstage at Proctors (432 State St., Schenectady) from Tuesday (Jan. 22) through Jan. 27. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 8 PM, with 2 PM matinees on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $20-$70. Call the box office at 346-6204.
