Heart have been making arena-sized sounds for four decades. From the thunder-of-the-gods attack of “Barracuda” and “Crazy On You” through the power-ballad majesty of “All I Wanna Do,” the Wilson sisters have left an indelible mark on rock & roll. Ann Wilson, with her soaring voice, and Nancy, with her guitar, staked out a place for women in what was (and in some corners, remains) one of the most overwhelmingly macho pop music forms. They battled record industry sexism and audience preconceptions, and won.
Now the Wilson sisters are back with a new album, Fanatic, and a memoir, Kicking and Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock and Roll. And they’re back on tour and coming to Schenectady this week.
Heart will perform Wednesday (Jan. 30) at 8 PM on the Mainstage at Proctors (432 State St., Schenectady). Tickets are $20-$90. For more info, call the box office at 346-6204.
