The New York State Writers Institute continues a strong season of visiting writers with readings on Tuesday (Feb. 26) by Ann Hood, best-selling author of The Knitting Circle, and novelist, UAlbany emeritus professor and occasional Metroland pundit Eugene Mirabelli.
Hood will read from and discuss her latest novel, The Obituary Writer, which tells the parallel stories of two women coping with grief at two very different periods in American history. Mirabelli will read from his novel Renato, the Painter, which author, publisher and NPR commentator Andrei Codrescu described as a “generous, sprawling, fleshy novel . . . of Sicilian-American-New England life.”
Eugene Mirabelli and Ann Hood will read from their work on Tuesday (Feb. 26) at 8 PM in the University at Albany’s Campus Center Assembly Hall (1400 Washington Ave., Albany). Admission is free. For more info, call the New York State Writers Institute at 442-5620.
