You may or may not have ever heard of Ken Stringfellow, but if you know your rock & roll, you’ve definitely heard of the people he’s worked with: R.E.M., Alex Chilton, the Posies. He even played bass in the second ’90s and ’00s incarnation of Big Star until Alex Chilton passed away in 2010. His new album, Danzig in the Moonlight, is sure to please any fan of poppy rock music. And, you know, his real name is actually Stringfellow. Is there a better surname for a musician, especially one who plays stringed instruments? How cool is that?
Ken Stringfellow will perform Saturday (Feb. 23) at 8 PM at Valentine’s (17 New Scotland Ave., Albany). Tickets are $10. For more info, call 432-6572.
