Allison Berkoy’s mysterious extravaganza Untitled Apocalypse, which will be presented at EMPAC this weekend, was heralded by one of the more intriguing press releases we’ve seen in ages.
The show is promised to be “an immersive, multimedia installation of projection, reactive spectacles, and mixed realities.” (We are well acquainted with “mixed realities.”) It continues: “There will be performances and films. There will be dummies and games.” (We’re down with dummies and games.) “There will be an angel plunging into a pit of steel balls.” (Really?) “There will be disasters of cataclysmic and infinitesimal scale, a fashion show, a solar electric boat, many clichés, many broken stories, and a sing-a-long.”
Something for everyone!
Untitled Apocalypse will be presented Friday (Feb. 22) from 7-10 PM and Saturday (Feb. 23) from 2-5 PM in EMPAC’s Studio 1 (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy). Admission is free. For more info, call 276-3921.
