Excision

by Metroland Staff on March 6, 2013

WASHINGTON AVENUE ARMORY, TUESDAY

American dubstep is often described as baby-making music for robots. BC producer Excision evidently thought the sound was a touch vanilla and put a little kink in it. His aggressive tracks are like robot BDSM, teasing the listener with that threshold between pleasuer and pain. His current Execution Tour—along with Paper Diamond and Vaski—boasts “100,000 watts of bone-crushing sound,” as well as the Executioner, an audio-visual DJ booth that puts Jeff Abel at the helm of a dubstep super robot hell-bent on destruction. (March 12, 8 PM, $20, 195 Washington Ave., Albany, 512-5203)
