Dillinger Escape Plan

by Metroland Staff on April 17, 2013

UPSTATE CONCERT HALL, TUESDAY

New Jersey natives and Sumerian Records signees Dillinger Escape Plan more or less put the genre mathcore (math rock meets hardcore, natch) on the map. The group were founded in 1997 after the breakup of Arcane, a hardcore punk-rock trio. Lead guitartist Ben Weinman teamed up with fellow guitarist James Love, with help on the bass from Liam Wilson. Vocalist Greg Puciato and drummer Billy Rymer round out the suspects for their latest album, One of Us Is the Killer. Think of it as thinking man’s heavy metal. The Faceless, Royal Thunder and The Primrose Path will help keep count Tuesday night. (April 23, 7:30 PM, $17, 1208 Route 146, Clifton Park, 371-0012)
