Laurie Anderson and Pauline Oliveros

by Metroland Staff on May 2, 2013

If avant-garde musicians were treated the way rock musicians are, this would be the kind of event where teenagers throw themselves on the hood of limousines, force their way past bodyguards and faint from pure excitement. Oliveros, the grande dame of deep listening, will join EMPAC resident Laurie Anderson to cap off a screening of Anderson’s films by together performing a live soundtrack. It’s kind of like a Bonnaroo “superjam” of experimental drone music. Just, no one yell for “Freebird.” (May 2, 5 and 8 PM, $6, 110 8th St., Troy, 276-3921)
