by Metroland Staff on May 8, 2013

Peter Case is a folk singer, rock guitarist and musicologist, whose professional career stretches back to the late-’70s, when he was a member of the seminal new wave band the Plimsouls, scoring hits like “A Million Miles Away.” But in 1986, he branched out into a solo career with a self-titled folk album, in which he worked with others like pop composer Van Dyke Parks. The album included many self-written songs, plus songs penned by others such as the Pogues’ Shane McGowan. Since then, he’s released a plethora of albums with that same style fans have come to know and love. (May 10, 9 PM, $10, 17 New Scotland Ave., Albany, 432-6572)
