Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck

by Metroland Staff on May 22, 2013

CLUB HELSINKI, FRIDAY

Names like Fugazi, Yes, Ali Farka Toure and Jerry Garcia are rarely used in the same sentence. Vermont singer-songwriter Bow Thayer makes the combination necessary. There’s a few other names he demands we mention too: the late Levon Helm, who hosted the band at his Midnight Rambles and played drums on the Perfect Trainwreck’s Spend It All, Mike Gordon of Phish, who debuted the band to larger crowds as his opening act, and Blitzen Trapper and the Drive-By Truckers, who have each shared the stage with Thayer and Co. (May 25, 9 PM, $12, 405 Columbia St., Hudson, 828-4800)
