The 5 Browns

by The Staff on May 23, 2013

The famous (and famously talented) brothers-and-sisters piano ensemble return to the Capital Region for a special performance at Skidmore College as part of SaratogaArtsFest. On Wednesday, the 5 Browns will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Paris premiere of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring with a performance of the world premiere of a new arrangement for five pianos.

We’ve seen them perform both classical and pops materials, and the siblings—Ryan, Melody, Gregory, Deondra and Desirae—live up to their reputation. They’re virtuosi who are able to make a warm connection with their audience. And the sound of five Steinways blasting away is something to experience.

The 5 Browns will perform Wednesday (May 29) at 7:30 PM in the Arthur Zankel Music Center (Skidmore College, 815 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs). Orchestra seats are $125 ($50 with a festival Arts Pass); balcony seats are $75 ($20 with an Arts Pass). For more info, call the Zankel box office at 580-5321.
