Sea Wolf

by Metroland Staff on June 5, 2013

VALENTINE’S, THURSDAY

Maybe you don’t know Alex Brown Church or his Los Angeles band Sea Wolf. But maybe you know Band of Horses, the Shins, Fleet Foxes, Bright Eyes and Monsters of Folk. Since 2007, Church has been working with some of the most esteemed producers in indie rock—the guys responsible for all of the above. Leaves in the River came out in that debut year and helped build a buzz that’s only intensified through 2009’s White Water, White Bloom and last year’s Old World Romance. Press materials call Church “a distinctive voice whose orchestrated allegories provide an antidote to the over-thought and overwrought.” Savoir Adore will open. (June 6, 8 PM, $10, 17 New Scotland Ave., Albany, 432-6572)
