Even though they said that they wouldn’t, Fleetwood Mac have broken the chain of touring more than a handful of times since their birth in the late ’60s and rise to commercial success a decade later. Whenever Stevie Nicks or Lindsey Buckingham strike out on a solo jaunt, it rarely does more than stoke fans’ lust for the primary gig. But we should cut them some slack; there’s only a handful of rock legends that you can expect to catch every year or so at SPAC or the TU Center (ahem, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen).
So, it’s brought joy to more than a couple Mac daddies and their moms to hear of Fleetwood Mac Live, the fairly humdrum title of the band’s 2013 world tour. There doesn’t appear to be a new record in the hopper but, let’s be honest, you just want to hear “Rhiannon” anyway.
Fleetwood Mac will play the Times Union Center (51 S. Pearl St., Albany) on Wednesday (June 19) at 8 PM. Tickets are $47 to $139.20. Call 487-2000 for more info.
