Ravi Coltrane

by Metroland Staff on June 19, 2013

Summer concertgoing tip: Amid the allure of festivals and pavillion shows, don’t forget about the air-conditioned clubs and theaters. Case in point: This Tuesday’s Skidmore performance by pedigreed saxman Ravi Coltrane. Coltrane’s last name pretty much speaks for itself and still stands as one of the most innovative in jazz. His quartet will be rounded out by Adam Rogers, Dezron Douglas and Jonathan Blake. You won’t get sunburned, stung by fire ants or struck by a rogue umbrella. Also, it’ll only cost you 8 bones. (June 25, 8 PM, $5-$8, Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, 580-5546)
