Social Distortion

by Metroland Staff on June 19, 2013

UPSTATE CONCERT HALL, FRIDAY

Orange County, Calif., punk godfathers Social Distortion kicked off a monthlong tour of the U.S. and Canada. Thankfully, local stalwarts of all things sonically cool 102.7 WEQX made sure the band stopped by the Upstate Concert Hall for a show. This year, the band, fronted by Mike Ness, recorded their first new album since 2004, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes. Expect the band to play songs spanning their three-decade career, including “Ball and Chain.” Joining Social Distortion are Nashville garage rockers Cheap Time, and Mike Hause, a Philadelphia singer-songwriter with deep punk roots, just like Ness. This should be a hard-rocking, cow-poking, riotous night.(June 21, 7 PM, $32, 1208 Route 146, Clifton Park, 371-0012)
