Lyle Lovett

by The Staff on July 3, 2013

The Egg, Friday

You can tell the real Americana greats from the Mumford impersonators because they don’t dress like a Bosko cartoon. Lyle Lovett, for instance, is one dapper gent. On the cover of last year’s Release Me, he’s bound in a lasso, left for dead in some desolate Texas prairie, but his suit? It’s perfect. It’s really just an extension of his voice, though, that clean, well-tempered, Willie Nelson-esque cross between jazz and country. His stop at the Egg will feature His Acoustic Group and, trust, us, they’re just as well-dressed. (July 5, 8 PM, $58, Empire State Plaza, Albany, 473-1845)
