The organizers of this weekend’s BasilicaScope film weekend in Hudson promise that their lineup of films “digs into the visceral aspects of motion pictures by celebrating films that explore the furthest extremes from remote landscapes, unconventional perspectives, fanatic personalities, radical examinations of film’s materiality, to the blood and emotion that create it.”
The fest begins tonight (Thursday) with the 8 PM screening of Jaqueline Goss’ 2011 The Observers. There are three films in the Friday lineup, screening from 6 PM to midnight; Saturday’s slate begins at 5 PM, and includes (at 9:30 PM) Sebastian Silva’s new film Crystal Fairy with costar Gaby Hoffman in person; Sunday’s lineup, curated by Sundance Film Festival programmer Mike Plante, begins at 1 PM.
The BasilicaScope film festival will be held tonight (Thursday, July 18) through Sunday (July 21) at Basilica Hudson (110 S. Front St., Hudson). Tickets to individual screenings are $10; a weekend pass is $75. Visit basilicahudson.com for more info and to buy tickets.
