Avenue Q

by The Staff on July 24, 2013

“Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist.”

That is but one of the many songs crooned by the potty-mouthed but endearing puppets of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Avenue Q, which opens tonight at the Charles R. Wood Theater.

This Adirondack Theatre Festival production has two key connections to the original Broadway hit: director Jennifer Barhart was in the cast, and ATF regular Gary Adler was the show’s original music director.

So leave the younger kids at home (teens are OK, though your mileage may vary) and head to Glens Falls for the damndest puppet show you’ll every see.

ATF’s production of Avenue Q opens tonight (Thursday, July 25) at 7:30 PM and runs through Aug. 3 at the Charles R. Wood Theater (207 Glen St., Glens Falls). Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 PM, with a matinee Wednesday (July 31) at 2 PM. Tickets—which are selling well, so don’t dawdle—are $35 and $45. For more info, call the company at 798-7479.
