The Amazing Acro-Cats!

by The Staff on August 1, 2013

We’ve seen very entertaining pet circuses come through town before. They’ve been great, but the lineup has usually been made up of many more dogs than cats for an obvious reason: Cats are harder to train. This has not been a problem for Samantha Martin, who has trained (charmed?) an array of (mostly) shelter-rescued kitties to perform as part of her Amazing Acro-Cats! show, which is coming to Schenectady today for a two-night stand at the GE Theatre.

These cats—who have performed on Animal Planet and The Soup, and were featured in National Geographic and Cat Fancy magazines—will display remarkable agility as they ride skateboards, leap over obstacles (like the clever feline  pictured here), jump through hoops, push carts, roll barrels and other delightful cat-acrobatics. Meow!

The Amazing Acro-Cats will perform Thursday and Friday (Aug. 1-2) at 7 PM in the GE Theatre at Proctors (432 State St., Schenectady). Tickets are $20.50, $17.50 for ages 12 and under. For more info, call the box office at 346-6204.
