We’re on the downward side of summer. The nights are cooler. It’s starting to get dark sooner—the sun is going down a few minutes earlier every night. You may be unhappy about this, but there are upsides. For one thing: It’s the perfect time of the year to sit outdoors and watch a movie.
Enter the folks at OGS. The folks behind the entertainment at the Empire State Plaza are presenting two films outdoors in August. First up, on Wednesday, is the classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. No offense to Johnny Depp, but Gene Wilder is Roald Dahl’s wild and weird candy man. And dig those orangy Oompa-Loompas.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory will be screened Wednesday (Aug. 21) at 8 PM outdoors at the Empire State Plaza (Madison Avenue, Albany). Admission is free. For more info, visit empirestateplaza.org.
