The Marcella Sembrich Association’s season is winding down at the Sembrich Studio and Museum for another summer. This Saturday night (Aug. 31), pianist Thomas Pandolfi will cap off the performance part of the series with a varied, virtuosic program.
The centerpiece will be Franz Liszt’s transcription for solo piano of one of the most profoundly romantic works in the classical repertory, the “Liebestod” from Richard Wagner’s opera Tristan und Isolde. Pandolfi also will perform music of Scarlatti, Beethoven, Respighi, Verdi, Schumann and Paganini. There’s nothing reserved about the work of any of those fellows.
Thomas Pandolfi will perform Saturday (Aug. 31) at 7:30 PM at the Sembrich Studio (4800 Lake Shore Drive, Bolton Landing). Tickets are $30. For more info, call 644-9839.
