Vermont Joy Parade

by Metroland Staff on September 4, 2013

CAFFE LENA, SATURDAY

The name of this band is only slightly misleading. The seven-piece Vermont-based purveyors of good-times “suspender fusion” actually roll in a big, white, biodiesel bus. No elephants. No drum majors. No shriners driving those tiny cars. You won’t miss any of that, though, when they roll up to Caffe Lena on Saturday with banjos, accordion, trumpet and “big bass fiddle.” Their press materials proclaim that they “cannot be stopped from making joy, merriment, and the most voluble and exciting music anyplace West of anyplace East.” The comparatively glum Laura Cortese Trio will open. (Sept. 7, 8 PM, $15, 47 Phila St., Saratoga Springs, 583-0022)
