Gurf Morlix

by The Staff on September 26, 2013

The Ale House, Thursday

Gurf Morlix is not a Star Trek villain. Gurf Morlix is not a Japanese cartoon. Gurf Morlix is not a Victorian undergarment. Gurf Morlix is not a part of a protoplanetary nebulae. Gurf Morlix is not an obscure province of Tolkien’s Middle Earth. Gurf Morlix is not a preservative in a Super Sour Lemon Drop Dead Fred Berry Fruit Roll-Up. No, sir. Gurf Morlix is a Buffalo-born, Texas-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who got his start as Lucinda Williams’ accompanist, has released eight solo albums since 2000, and will play Troy’s Ale House tonight. His latest CD, Finds the Present Tense, came out this year. Go figure, right? (Sept. 26, 8 PM, $15, 680 River St., Troy, 272-9740)
