Punk cred doesn’t get much deeper than the kind Willie Alexander carries around. The 70-year-old singer and keyboardist is maybe best known for his group the Boom Boom Band, active in the late-’70s and sporadically of late, but has had at least four other bands and 13 solo records to his name. Oh, and he toured with the Velvet Underground between 1971 and 1973.
The lineup of his band the Fish Eye Brothers includes Jim Doherty and Mark Chenevert. David Greenberger and MaryLeigh Roohan will open the show.
Willie Alexander and the Fish Eye Brothers will play Valentine’s (17 New Scotland Ave., Albany) on Saturday (Oct. 12) at 8 PM. Tickets are $12. Call 432-6572 for more info.
