Classical Showcase

by The Staff on October 31, 2013

The Capital Region has an incredibly vibrant classical music scene—and we’re talking about the professional players of the Albany Musicians Association (Local 14 of the AFM).

On Sunday afternoon, you can sample some of the region’s best at the Classical Showcase at the New York State Museum. There will be two performance venues. In the Huxley Theater, you can hear the Funf Wind Quintet (1 PM); Capitol Chamber Artists (1:45 PM); Albany Chamber Brass Quintet (2:30 PM); and Musicians of Ma’alwyck (left, at 3:15 PM). In Adirondack Hall, performers will be flautists Beth Chinery and James Haertel (1 PM); harpist Darhon Rees-Rohrbacher (1:45 PM); the Glaston Duo (2:30 PM); and pianist Daisy Lin (3:15 PM).

The Classical Showcase will be held Sunday (Nov. 3) beginning at 1 PM at the New York State Museum (Empire State Plaza, Albany). Admission is free. For more info, call 474-5877.
