Anyway, they’re still pretty awesome. The first show they played in this area, at Valentine’s back in 2010, was one of the most monstrously sold-out affairs of semi-recent memory. It’s not for nothing that Joe Putrock’s photo of singer Alexis Krauss crowdsurfing across the room made the cover of our recent Valentine’s tribute issue.
Since then, Sleigh Bells released Reign of Terror (rain of terror . . . sorry) along with consumate sophomore album single “Comeback Kid.” Then last month they unveiled Bitter Rivals, tripling-down on the duo’s still-jarring mash-up of metal and big-beat pop.
Electronic producer Doldrums will open.
