All right, maybe it’s time to let the SAD (seasonal affective disorder) sink in and accept it for what it is. The weather outside is just downright frightful, and with another storm looming, we will have to look for moments to add some spice to our lives.
Let Los Lobos can help. The Mexican-American crew just reached their four-decade mark and still devote their time to making great rock music with ties to traditional cumbias and Tex-Mex swing. This means they know how to hit those chords that make you feel all warm inside like a cup of hot cocoa after a snow-shoveling session.
Their new record, Disconnected in New York City, isn’t a warning for what might happen to the power when another Nor’easter blows through. But the mostly acoustic tunes will hold up nicely should you have to break out the candles and flashlights.
Los Lobos will play The Egg (Empire State Plaza, Albany) on Tuesday (Dec. 3) at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $34.50-$44.50. Call 473-1845 for more info.
