Set in late-Victorian England, Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden is a tale of redemption and rejuvenation leavened by plain “common sense.” It’s a children’s story loved by adults, enduring in many formats: the original novel, multiple films and a musical adaptation, opening Friday at the Theatre Institute at Sage.
This Tony Award-winning version of Burnett’s tale was adapted by Marsha Norman, with music by Lucy Simon. The Theatre Institute’s production is directed by Michael Musial.
Theatre Institute at Sage’s production of The Secret Garden opens tomorrow (Friday, Dec 6) at 7 PM at the Schacht Fine Arts Center (Russell Sage College, 5 Division St., Troy) and will run through Dec. 15. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 seniors and students. For show times, tickets and more info, please visit sage.edu/theatre or call 244-2248.
