Beginning today (Thursday), the New York State Museum’s Photography Gallery will host 60 from the 60s, 60 prints by “10 of the most significant photographers” working in that decade: Harry Callahan, Benedict J. Fernandez, Hollis Frampton, Betty Hahn, Robert Heinecken, Mary Ellen Mark, Roger Mertin, Arnold Newman, Aaron Siskind, and Garry Winogrand. Pictured is Hahn’s A Ben Day Day #2 (1969).
Organized by the George Eastman House, 60 from the 60s will bring the artistic innovations and societal earthquakes of that era to vivid life again.
60 from the 60s opens today (Thursday, Dec. 12) and will run through March 9 at the New York State Museum (Empire State Plaza, Albany). For more info call 474-5877 or visit nysm.nysed.gov.
