by The Staff on December 12, 2013

David Alan Miller will lead the ASO in a program of mostly traditional holiday music this weekend at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. There will be excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, the overture to Handel’s Judas Maccabeus,  Bach’s Cantata No. 63 and—the contemporary ringer—George Tsontakis’ Unforgettable for Two Violins and Orchestra.

Students and alumni of the Bard College Conservatory of Music will perform with the orchestra, as well as violinists Luosha Fang and Eunice Kim (pictured).

The Albany Symphony Orchestra will present Selections from Messiah & More at 7:30 PM Saturday (Dec. 14) and 3 PM Sunday (Dec. 15) at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall (2nd and State streets, Troy). Tickets are $19-$59; to order tickets call 694-3300. For info about the Music Hall, call 273-0038.
