Good People

The past looms large in David Lindsay-Abaire’s Tony Award-nominated, “Southie”-set 2011 working-class drama, which opens tomorrow night (Friday) at Curtain Call Theatre.

When the single mother of a handicapped adult child loses her dead-end cashier’s job, economic desperation causes her to reach out to someone from her past—someone who, unlike her, escaped the poverty and provincialism of South Boston. The result is revelatory, painful and ultimately cathartic.

The production is directed by Chris Foster, and stars Adam Landsberg, Colleen Lovett, Stacey Rowland, Resa Tanner, Andrea Valenti and Patrick White.

Good People opens Friday (Jan. 10) at 8 PM and runs through Feb. 8 at Curtain Call Theatre (210 Old Loudon Road, Latham). Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets are $23. For more info, call the box office at 877-7529.
