Robin Zander

by The Staff on January 23, 2014

The Egg, Friday

For all you rockers under the age of, say, 45, Robin Zander is the dude from Cheap Trick who’s not Rick Nielsen. You know, the guy whose pipes you’ve wanted to want because he’s wanted you to want him. The guy with the tophat, not the bowtie, capiche? Cheap Trick have been one of the most stalwart touring acts of that classic rock generation—and basically coined the cliché “big in Japan” due to the success of their live album at Budokan. They’ve continued to put out new material as well, but that doesn’t mean Zander hasn’t found time to do it by his lonesome. His most recent album was Countryside Blvd from 2010.
