If you were to compile a list of the best-known (and best-loved) ballets, Giselle would be near the top of the list. Sergei Radchenko’s Moscow Festival Ballet will present this centuries-old tale of a peasant girl who dies of a broken heart, survives a battle for her soul and ultimately finds redemption on the Mainstage at Proctors tomorrow (Friday) night.
The reviews are in, and their Giselle is a hit. A critic for the Post and Courier (Charleston, S.C.) wrote, “The dancers of the Moscow Festival Ballet spoke to the soul through the body, performing a magnificent Giselle.”
Moscow Festival Ballet will perform Friday (March 28) at 8 PM on the Mainstage at Proctors (432 State St., Schenectady). Tickets are $20 to $55. For more info, call the box office at 346-6204.
