Ustad Shafaat Khan

by The Staff on March 27, 2014

Ustad Shafaat Khan may be the only musician who can simultaneously boast a musical legacy dating back to the 16th century and a headlining performance at Bonnaroo with Stevie Wonder. The classical Indian musician is a master of sitar, surbahar and table, making him something of a triple threat within a genre that Ravi Shankar ripped wide open in the ’60s.

Over the course of his career, Khan has performed traditional music, romantic music, jazz fusion, dance hybrid music, soundtracks and music for meditation and health, with three albums produced by famed wellness guru Deepak Chopra.

This performance will be followed by a specially prepared Indian dinner. Reservations required.

Ustad Shafaat Khan will perform at Time and Space Limited (434 Columbia St., Hudson) on Sunday (March 30) at 2 PM. Tickets are $25. Call 822-8448 for more info.
